Web Graphic Designer (Front End Design)

We're looking for a graphic designer with a minimum of 3 years experience in web design and graphic design (preferably in Silicon Valley).

Passion for excellence and creativity. A self starter, motivated, and an enthusiastic spirit is critical for developing great design and creative solutions for our clients. An eye for design and detail a must. Understanding of design as it applies to both web and print.

We work on both Mac and PC platforms.

Please indicate your levels of skill, experience and capabilities on applications including:

Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Image Ready, Dreamweaver, Flash, Director, Fireworks, CGI, JAVA, Javascript, Action Scripts, php, perl, AJAX, msql, database, ecommerce, forms, other. (on a scale of 1 - 5. 1-beginner, 5 Expert).

Web designers and programmers with the following skillsets:

Server side related skillset:
  1) Must have: strong knowledge of PHP version 4/5, MySQL 4/5. Deep understanding on Object Oriented programming.
  2) Must have: understanding on common PHP security best practice, for example, preventing Cross-site scripting attack, SQL injection attack and session fixation attack.
  3) Must have: understanding on how template engine works in PHP (for example: smarty)
  4) Must have: at least some knowledge of how content management system works and some basic understanding on one of the content management system: drupal, joomla, CMS Made Simple...
  5) Must have: ability to install and customize third-party php software package (example: phpbb, OSCommerce...)
  6) Must have: understanding of the structure of XML, Atom and Rss feed.
  7) Must have: understanding of the how AJAX works and is familiar with at least one AJAX framework (Dojo, script.aculo.us)
  8) Better to have: understanding on Ruby scripting language and Ruby on Rails Framework
  9) Better to have: understanding on source code version control system (CVS, SVN)
  10) Better to have: understanding on Perl scripting language, prefer to have understanding Object-Oriented Perl.
  12) Better to have: understanding on one of the PHP Application Framework (CakePHP, PHP On Trax, CodeIgnitor...)
  13) Better to have: understanding on common principles in database design.

  The potential person must have the common characteristics of a good programmer: always like to learn new technology and enjoy coding.

Client side related skillset (in HTML/CSS/Javascript)
  1) Must have: ability to hand-code HTML/CSS/Javascript while leveraging the power of the design tools (Dreamweaver / Homesite)
  2) Must have: ability to convert any comps in photoshop to HTML/CSS in fairly short amount of time.
  3) Must have: understanding on Cross-Browser Compatability Issue on CSS and is always willining to learn the tricks to fix them.
  4) Must have: understand the need to have a dirty fix v.s a good fix under strict deadline.
  5) Must have: understanding on DOM in javascript
  6) Must have: ability to write javascript from scratch while being able to integrate third-party script into the existing application.
  7) Better to have: understanding Object-Oriented Javascript programming.

Client side related skillset (in Flash)
1) Must have: strong understanding on actionscript 2.0/3.0 and be able to do object-oriented actionscript programming.
2) Must have: strong knowledge of the Flash IDE tool.

  The 3 areas of skillset can be combined on a same person or can be in 3 or more persons.
