Account Rep
Overview
We are looking
for a special someone who is a born networker, enthusiastic, people
oriented and knows and understand small businesses and how businesses
work with each other. Someone who can build business relationships
and turn them into long term clients. This is a great
opportunity to work with a creative team that specializes in "thinking
out of the box" to produce creative advertising, promotions,
and trade show support for a wide variety of clients and industries including hi-tech, environment and sustainability, real estate, government and education.
Job Description
and Responsibilities
Full-time, marketing
account rep, working with the principal of the company to assist
in business development, client services and project management.
Critical to the business, this person in many cases will be the
face and voice of the company.
The rep will
be responsible to research prospects, build a database, initiate
contacts, send out mailers, emailers, etc., follow up leads, follow
up calls and set up appointments for presentations.
Assist the presentation
pitch, and follow up to help close the deal.
Assist in developing
proposals, estimates and quotes. Negotiating with vendors, assessing
projects will staff to determine estimate hours and timeframe to
complete projects. Put together estimates and schedules.
Manage projects
to insure high quality results, on time and within budgets. Quality
control, report to staff and client.
This person
must be able to trouble shoot a situation and recommend solutions
to mitigate any problems.
Assist in office
operations and administrative duties including client communications,
scheduling, managing database, accounting, project management using
Microsoft Word, Excel, FileMaker Pro, QuickBooks Pro.
Communicate
with client and vendors via phone, e-mail, fax, etc. in regards
to project status and other administrative issues. Facilitate the
transfer of information, data and approvals of projects. Execute
proper operational procedures such as the approval and sign-off
process, filing (both hard copy and digital copy), follow up and
reporting.
Research and
collect data via Internet, phone and other sources on clients, vendors,
industries, and other pertinent information relating to specific
projects.
Assist when
needed, in the production of print advertisements, brochures, trade
show graphics, website design, content management. Layout,
prep, and final production using Microsoft Word, Excel, Quark Express,
Illustrator, and Photoshop applications.
Proofing and
final pre-flight of all final production art before it is sent to
the printer.
Vendor coordination:
work with various print, web, photography, trade show vendors getting
estimates, working out schedules, etc.
Requirements
Minimum college
degree in business administration, communications, or liberal arts
or equivalent. 2 years experience in sales, marketing. Experience
in print, tradeshows, internet a plus.
Excellent communications
skills, both writing and speaking.
"Attention
to detail" in any phase of operation a must including math,
spelling and the English language.
A passion for
learning, contributing and team participation with a positive attitude
a must.
A desire to
learn about the unique experience of Silicon Valley and its relationship
to the global community and to contribute to its on-going evolution.
Good presence
in person as well as on the phone.
Competency in
basic computer usage including Mac and PC.
Competency in
Microsoft Word, Excel.
Competency in
using the Internet as a research tool as well as a marketing tool.
Experience in
or the ability to learn and master the basics of InDesign and Quark
Express..
Experience in
or the ability to learn and master FileMaker Pro database, Quickbooks
Pro.
Experience in
or the ability to learn the basics of Photoshop, and Illustrator,
Dreamweaver, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Additional
Basic knowledge
of the marketing communications industry including print, web, tradeshow,
internet, promotions.
Basic understanding
of marketing and small business operations a plus.
Industry contacts
and sales leads a major plus.

is a salary plus commission position. (negotiable depending
upon experience as well as industry contacts).
